Making the Summertime Cash Last

Summer is winding down, and our attention is shifting toward back-to-school season! Before we fully transition into backpacks and fresh sneakers mode, let’s take a moment to review our summer revenue.

Maybe the kiddos had a successful lemonade stand, or maybe some lawn mowing money has the piggy bank filled to the brim. It might be time to upgrade the kids’ money-saving system.

The piggy bank upgrade

Before school starts, consider opening up a Community Kids Savings Account through United Community Bank.

The Community Kids Savings Account is an easy way to teach your children about money-saving strategies, investing in the future and stashing away some money for a rainy day … or a new video game.

At UCB, we believe that it is never too early to start saving for the future!

We pay for good grades

At UCB, we pay for A’s. Before the first day of school, make sure to enroll your students in the Pays for A’s program. Over the course of the school year, your children can submit their report cards to your local UCB branch and earn money for A’s. This incentive-based program encourages students to engage in school and develop age-appropriate financial literacy.

To enroll in this program, you must have a Community Kids Savings Account set up in your child’s name.

Swiping through the school year

United Community Bank offers the Greenlight Card. This debit card is aimed at teaching kids and teens how to manage their finances in a safe and protected way. Adults have full control of loading the card and determining where money can be spent and how much.

Financial literacy is at the top of our curriculum at United Community Bank, and it’s our goal to make sure you and your children feel confident and comfortable when it comes to money.
